Character
Villa plots above the coast
The development sits on the hills east of Marbella, above the coastal strip of Los Monteros [1,3]. It was planned as one long-term project from the late 1990s [2].
The defining feature is density. There are few single-family plots per hectare, with green zones and pedestrian trails between them [2]. A few apartment complexes sit inside the area too [2,3].
Security is set per complex. Many sub-communities have 24-hour gates, CCTV and patrols [4]. Others are open streets. Check the specific plot.
Houses range from Mediterranean villas with white walls and terracotta roofs to newer contemporary builds [1,3]. Plot sizes vary; typical range to confirm.
Green & outdoors
Green, with trails from the door
Planting is mature. Cork oak groves cover much of the hillside [1]. Roads have pavements, lighting and walking trails [2].
The elevation gives wide views over the sea and the mountains. On clear days you see Gibraltar and the African coast [1,3].
Golf
Golf a short drive away
There is no course inside the area. Río Real, Santa Clara and Marbella Golf are close by [1]. Drive times to confirm.
Schools
International schools
There are no schools inside the area [1,3]. Most international schools are 10–20 minutes by car [3].
| School | By car | Curriculum |
|---|---|---|
| English International College (EIC), Ricmar | Short drive to confirm | British, ages 3–18 [4] |
| Swans International School | ~15 min | British and IB [1,4] |
| Aloha College, Nueva Andalucía | ~15 min to confirm | British and IB [1] |
| Colegio Alborán | to confirm | Spanish private [1,4] |
School-run times depend on traffic and on where in the area you live.
Everyday life
Quiet at home. Town ten minutes away.
There are no shops inside the development. Calahonda, about 15 minutes east, has supermarkets and three shopping centres [1].
For dinner and the beach, residents go down to the Los Monteros coast or into Marbella town [1]. The beach club La Cabane and the Palm Beach restaurant are nearby [1].
Buyers here are often families, retired executives and people who work from home [4].
