Where needed, we source worldwide. Italian designer furniture where it makes the difference, and well-made pieces from efficient manufacturers where it doesn’t. You get the best value for every part of the budget.
Built for busy clients
Clients often have only a couple of days. We prepare everything so we need very little of your time, and we move fast ourselves. Our teams cover three time zones, so work moves on around the clock.

How it started
Philippe is Belgian, born in France. He moved to Marbella in 1996. There he learned luxury development as strategy director of one of the largest Dutch developers active in Spain. It built large villa resorts such as Monte Mayor Country Club, and resorts in Antigua and Austria.
Lu studied architecture at Unisul university in Balneário Camboriú, Brazil.
Together they founded Modern Villas in Marbella in 2013. Marbella is Spain’s playground for European, Russian and Arab high-net-worth individuals, and more and more for American clients. It had plenty of golf and gated communities, but little modern, well-built architecture. So they started designing modern villas there. One of the very first designs, in 2013, was the Sliding House.
Their clients lived abroad and had only a few days in Marbella. So they learned to work fast and at a distance, with 3D models you can walk through.
In 2016 Modern Villas went international, with a new headquarters in Bulgaria. Today Philippe and Lu divide their time over three continents, and work on villas from Australia to Brazil.
Along the way they built teams around the world that are used to working together. They cover three time zones: the Americas, Europe and Australia/Asia. So work moves on around the clock.

How we work with buyers

- We send a short list of villas and neighbourhoods that fit, with our notes on each.
- We view with you and point out what matters: construction, finishes, maintenance, the plot.
- We stay with you through the offer, the checks and the signing, with [lawyer / notary partners].
